Chevy Chase Real Estate
A historic town with a modern-day appeal, Chevy Chase began to develop in the late 1800s, and now includes the original Village, Martin's Addition, and Sections Three, Four and Five. Located just outside the boundary of Washington, D.C., the Town still retains its original village atmosphere, with leafy streets showcasing some of the area's most beautiful colonial, Victorian, and Spanish-influenced homes. Chevy Chase possesses an intimate, small-town feel, but boasts amenities that are found in much larger communities, given its close proximity to Bethesda and Washington, D.C.
In an ongoing effort to preserve the tree canopy, approximately 80 trees are planted each year for the benefit of the town. Four small parks and pedestrian-friendly streets with sidewalks provide wonderful outlets for outdoor activities and neighborhood strolls, and there are quaint shops and great restaurants as well.
Like many close-in suburban neighborhoods around Washington, the original area of Chevy Chase expanded in the 1940s and 1950s as automobiles made living further from the city an attractive option. Extending north from the original Village of Chevy Chase, the mid-20th Century developments include neighborhoods with ramblers, split-foyers, and Cape Cod-style homes. Today, the Chevy Chase community offers a mix of single-family and townhome communities in the subdivisions of Somerset,Kenwood<, Kenwood Forest, Rock Creek Forest, and Clean Drinking Water. |

The condominium alternatives are extremely attractive, with The Willoughby, Somerset House, and The Elizabeth offering every amenity for luxury urban living and a location close to Metro, shopping, and the Washington, D.C. line. Deemed the "Rodeo Drive of the East," Barneys, Jimmy Choo, Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior and Chanel joined the many upscale shops at Mazza Gallery and the Chevy Chase Pavilion to offer Washingtonians the shopping experiences of Manhattan.
With its village ambience still intact, and with a premier location with a wide variety of housing, shopping and entertainment options, Chevy Chase continues to attract newcomers.
